Despite the sudden death of Paris Review co-founder George Plimpton last Thursday, a party planned to mark the 50th anniversary of the publication will go ahead as planned on October 14. The party was conceived as a fundraiser and the magazine invited its 4,000 subscribers to attend the event scheduled for Cipriani's restaurant in New York City. The invitations were included in the summer edition of the magazine. Pimpton told PW the party may give out-of-town subscribers a "good reason to go to New York." Tickets to the party range from $500 to $1,000. At press time, there were no more details about the death of Plimpton at age 76.
