The work of Dr. Howard Shapiro, who has run a holistic weight-loss practice in Manhattan for 20 years, has been widely bruited in the press and on TV, and now he has written a new book, Add Ten Years to Your Life, which has just been bought by Carlo De Vito, publisher of Penguin's new Chamberlain Bros. imprint. De Vito stresses it is not a diet book, but a holistic approach to health and attitude that offers a blueprint for a longer, healthier and more active life. It was a world-rights deal signed with Mel Berger at William Morris, and the book will be edited by Anna Cowles.
