Mark Oppegard, CEO of Nebraska Book Company, is retiring and will be replaced by Barry Major, the current president and COO at NBC. Steven Clemente, a current senior v-p, has been named to fill Major's previous position as president and COO.

Obituary: Frank Pearl
Frank Pearl, founder and chairman of the board for Perseus Book Group, died May 4. He was 68. John Schwieters, a longtime colleague of Pearl's who has worked with Perseus for years and served on its board of directors, is succeeding Pearl as chairman.
